November 2026 Astrology: Key Events, Dates and What They Mean

November 2026 Astrology

November 2026 begins with The Sun in Scorpio, while Mercury and Venus are both retrograde. Saturn, Uranus and Neptune are also retrograde as the month begins. This makes November a month with a considerable amount of unfinished business. Decisions can be reconsidered, relationships can change direction and plans that have been delayed can begin moving again as Mercury and Venus turn direct. By the end of the month The Sun has entered Sagittarius and the atmosphere becomes more optimistic and forward looking.

The first part of November is strongly influenced by Scorpio. The Sun remains in Scorpio until November 25th, while Mercury spends the entire month in Scorpio. Scorpio is intense, determined and highly intuitive. It is also drawn towards anything hidden or mysterious. With Mercury retrograde during the first half of the month, conversations and information from the past can return and there can be a need to look more closely at matters that have not been completely resolved.

Sun Square Pluto – November 2nd

November begins with a powerful aspect between The Sun and Pluto. The Sun in Scorpio squares Pluto in Aquarius around November 2nd. A square can create tension between two planets and this combination can bring disagreements, questions of control and situations that have been developing beneath the surface.

Pluto often works indirectly and can signal the beginning of an end. The Sun represents our inner self, ego, power and self expression. When these two planets form a square there can be a strong desire to take control or make an important change. Problems that have been avoided can become more difficult to ignore.

This does not have to be entirely negative. Pluto can clear the mind and help us make positive decisions that move life forwards. Sun square Pluto can provide the determination needed to deal with something that has been allowed to continue for too long.

Sun Conjunct Mercury – November 4th

On November 4th The Sun conjuncts Mercury in Scorpio. Mercury is still retrograde, making this an important point in the Mercury retrograde period.

Mercury represents intellect, thoughts and communication. The Sun brings greater attention to whatever it touches. Conversations can become more important and information that has previously been overlooked can return to our attention.

Because Mercury is retrograde, this is not necessarily the best time to rush towards a final decision. It can be more useful for reconsidering previous plans and looking again at information already available. Scorpio has a deep curiosity and is persistent in its search for the truth. This can make November 4th particularly useful for finding something that has previously been missed.

Mercury Square Pluto – November 7th

Mercury remains retrograde in Scorpio during the first week of November, while Pluto is in Aquarius. Around November 7th Mercury and Pluto form a square, bringing another strong connection between Scorpio and Pluto.

Mercury governs communication, reasoning and information. Pluto can bring hidden matters to the surface. Conversations can become intense and people can become determined to discover the truth. There is also the possibility of arguments when someone becomes too fixed on proving their point.

This is a good time to look beneath the surface rather than accepting everything at face value. However there is a difference between asking sensible questions and becoming obsessed with finding problems where none exist.

New Moon in Scorpio – November 9th

The New Moon in Scorpio occurs on November 9th, with The Sun and The Moon both in Scorpio. A New Moon begins a new lunar cycle and is traditionally associated with new beginnings.

Scorpio is a sign of determination, strong emotions and change. It is also associated with matters that are private or hidden from view. This New Moon can therefore mark a useful point for leaving something behind and beginning again.

Mercury and Venus are still retrograde, so some new beginnings can have their roots in the past. An old idea can be reconsidered. A relationship can be looked at differently. Something that appeared finished can return for another look. The Scorpio New Moon encourages change, but it also asks us to understand what needs changing before rushing ahead.

Uranus Sextile Neptune – November 10th

On November 10th Uranus in Gemini forms a sextile with Neptune in Aries. Both planets are retrograde.

Uranus is associated with originality, inventions, intelligence and new ideas. Neptune is associated with imagination, idealism and compassion, but also illusion and confusion. A sextile is generally considered a helpful aspect and gives these two very different planets an opportunity to work together.

New ideas can appear from unusual directions. Imagination can help with problem solving and old assumptions can be questioned. Uranus dislikes restrictions and Neptune has a strong imaginative influence. Together they can encourage people to look beyond familiar ways of doing things.

Venus Stations Direct in Libra – November 12th

One of the important changes of direction during November occurs when Venus stations direct in Libra on November 12th.

Venus represents affection, harmony, balance, romantic relationships, marriage, business partnerships, pleasure and personal possessions. Libra is one of the signs ruled by Venus, giving this station particular importance.

During Venus retrograde, relationships, agreements, money and personal priorities can have required reconsideration. Once Venus turns direct there is a greater opportunity to make decisions and begin moving forward. Problems do not disappear immediately, but matters that have been uncertain can start becoming clearer.

Relationships and agreements that have survived the retrograde period can now begin finding a more settled direction.

Mercury Stations Direct in Scorpio – November 14th

Two days after Venus changes direction, Mercury stations direct in Scorpio on November 14th.

Mercury retrograde can bring delays, misunderstandings, changes of mind and unfinished conversations. Mercury turning direct does not instantly solve every problem, but it marks an important change. Information begins moving forward again and decisions that have been waiting can start to be made.

Scorpio does not like unanswered questions. Mercury in Scorpio is persistent and focused, with a strong desire to discover what is really happening. Once Mercury is direct this persistence can become more productive.

The middle of November therefore represents a considerable change from the beginning of the month. Both Venus and Mercury are direct by November 14th, removing two of the major retrograde influences that dominated the opening weeks.

Mars Conjunct Jupiter in Leo – November 15th

The day after Mercury turns direct, Mars and Jupiter come together in Leo.

Mars represents confidence, energy, strength, ambition and physical activity. Jupiter is associated with growth, prosperity, good fortune, freedom and exploration. Leo adds confidence, enthusiasm and a desire for recognition.

This is a powerful combination for action. People can feel more confident about taking a chance or moving ahead with something that has been delayed. Ambition can increase and there can be a strong desire to achieve something important.

The main danger is excess. Mars can be impulsive and Jupiter can encourage us to think big. Confidence is useful, but overconfidence can lead to rash decisions. Used carefully, this conjunction can provide the energy and enthusiasm needed to make substantial progress.

Mars Enters Virgo – November 20th

After the confidence and drama of Mars in Leo, Mars enters Virgo on November 20th.

Mars in Virgo directs energy towards practical work, organisation and getting things done properly. Those with Mars in Virgo are hard working and have the ability to succeed even with tedious tasks. Virgo pays attention to details and dislikes disorder.

This change can be useful after the powerful Mars-Jupiter conjunction. Big ideas now need practical work behind them. Plans need to be organised and unfinished jobs need attention.

Mars in Virgo can become demanding or overly critical when something is not right. The positive side is persistence and the willingness to do the work rather than waiting for someone else to do it.

Mars Square Uranus – November 23rd

Only a few days after entering Virgo, Mars forms a square with Uranus on November 23rd. Mars is around 1° Virgo while Uranus is retrograde around 1° Gemini.

Mars is associated with action, confidence and impulsiveness. Uranus is associated with originality, independence and sudden change. Both planets can be impatient when restrictions get in their way.

This square can therefore bring sudden changes, restless behaviour and unexpected problems. Plans can be disrupted and people can react too quickly when something does not go as expected. Arguments can begin suddenly if patience is already wearing thin.

There is another side to this aspect. Uranus can produce original ideas while Mars provides the energy to act upon them. A problem can force us to find a completely different solution. The best results come from remaining flexible rather than trying to force a plan that is clearly no longer working.

Scorpio-Sagittarius Cusp – November 24th

On November 24th The Sun reaches the final degree of Scorpio, marking the Scorpio-Sagittarius cusp.

Scorpio and Sagittarius approach life very differently. Scorpio is intense, private and determined. Sagittarius is more open, optimistic and interested in freedom, travel and exploration.

The cusp marks the transition between these two influences. Matters that have required deep thought or careful investigation can begin giving way to a greater interest in what comes next. There can be a desire to move beyond recent difficulties and look towards wider possibilities.

Full Moon in Gemini – November 25th

The Full Moon in Gemini occurs on November 25th. The Moon is in Gemini while The Sun has just entered Sagittarius.

Gemini is ruled by Mercury and is strongly associated with communication, information and curiosity. Sagittarius is interested in knowledge, exploration and wider horizons. The Full Moon brings these opposite signs together.

Information can reach a point where a decision has to be made. Conversations can reveal what people really think and something that has remained uncertain can become easier to understand. Gemini looks at facts and different possibilities, while Sagittarius looks towards the larger picture.

With Mercury now direct in Scorpio, the Gemini Full Moon can bring a change of direction based upon information that has gradually become clearer during the month.

Sagittarius Season Begins – November 25th

November 25th also marks the beginning of Sagittarius season, as The Sun enters Sagittarius.

Sagittarius is ruled by Jupiter and is associated with freedom, exploration, travelling and the search for knowledge. Those with strong Sagittarius influences are adventurous, optimistic and usually interested in what lies beyond familiar surroundings.

This is a noticeable change from Scorpio season. The first part of November has concentrated heavily on reconsideration, hidden matters and unfinished business. Sagittarius begins looking towards the future.

The change does not remove every restriction. Saturn, Uranus and Neptune remain retrograde. Jupiter is moving slowly through Leo. However Mercury and Venus are now direct and Mars has moved into Virgo. The general direction of the month has changed from reconsidering the past towards deciding what to do next.

The Retrograde Picture During November 2026

November begins with Mercury, Venus, Saturn, Uranus and Neptune retrograde. This is one of the most important features of the month's astrology.

Venus turns direct on November 12th and Mercury follows on November 14th. Saturn remains retrograde in Aries throughout November, Uranus remains retrograde in Gemini and Neptune remains retrograde in Aries.

The middle of the month is therefore the main turning point. The first half of November contains more reconsideration and unfinished business. The second half begins to provide more forward movement, although some longer term matters still require patience.

November 2026 Astrology Overview

November 2026 begins under a strong Scorpio influence and with five planets retrograde. The early part of the month can bring old questions, unfinished conversations and matters that need another look. The New Moon in Scorpio on November 9th provides an opportunity for a new beginning, but the greatest change comes when Venus and Mercury turn direct on November 12th and 14th.

Mars conjunct Jupiter on November 15th brings a sudden increase in confidence and ambition. Mars then enters Virgo on November 20th, directing that energy towards practical work. The Mars-Uranus square on November 23rd warns against impatience and rash decisions when plans unexpectedly change.

The final part of November has a very different character. The Sun leaves Scorpio and enters Sagittarius on November 25th, the same day as the Full Moon in Gemini. Sagittarius season turns attention towards freedom, knowledge, travel and future possibilities.

November begins by looking back at what still needs to be resolved. It ends with a much stronger desire to move forward.
