Sagittarius Season Begins 25th November 2026 Freedom and Optimism

Sagittarius Season Begins 25th November 2026 Freedom and Optimism

Sagittarius season begins on November 25th 2026 when The Sun leaves Scorpio and enters Sagittarius. This marks a noticeable change after the more intense and private influence of Scorpio season. Sagittarius is optimistic, adventurous and strongly connected with freedom, travel and exploration. Attention begins to move away from what has been hidden or difficult and towards what can be discovered next.

The Sun represents our inner self, ego, power, self expression, creativity, vitality, health and well being. As The Sun moves through each Zodiac sign, these qualities are expressed through the character of that sign. Sagittarius is ruled by Jupiter, the planet associated with growth, prosperity, good fortune, travelling, religion, law, freedom and exploration. Sagittarius season therefore encourages people to look beyond familiar surroundings and consider wider possibilities.

The change begins immediately on November 25th. Only a day earlier The Sun is at 29° Scorpio on the Scorpio-Sagittarius cusp. Scorpio is determined, secretive and emotionally intense. It can remain focused on one problem until an answer is found. Sagittarius is more interested in what comes afterwards. It wants movement, experience and the freedom to follow a new direction.

This can make the beginning of Sagittarius season feel like a release after several weeks of concentrating on difficult or complicated matters. Problems do not simply disappear when The Sun changes signs, but our approach to them can change. Something that seemed to demand constant attention can become less important when a new possibility appears. There can be a stronger desire to move forward rather than continue examining what has already happened.

Freedom is one of the strongest qualities associated with Sagittarius. This can mean physical freedom, but it can also involve freedom of thought and the ability to make personal choices. Restrictions can become more noticeable during Sagittarius season because there is a stronger desire to decide where we are going for ourselves. People can become less willing to accept rules or arrangements that no longer appear reasonable.

This does not mean that every restriction should be ignored. Sagittarius can sometimes become impatient when responsibilities interfere with an interesting opportunity. The desire for freedom can encourage useful changes, but it can also lead to decisions being made before all the facts have been considered. Optimism works best when it is supported by a practical understanding of what is actually possible.

Travel and exploration can become more attractive as Sagittarius season develops. This can involve long journeys and foreign places, but exploration does not always require travelling far from home. Learning something new, meeting different people or becoming interested in an unfamiliar subject can satisfy the same need for wider experience. Sagittarius dislikes feeling that life has become too narrow or predictable.

The beginning of Sagittarius season is particularly important in 2026 because it takes place on the same day as the Full Moon in Gemini. The Moon reaches 100% illumination in Gemini on November 25th while The Sun enters Sagittarius. Gemini and Sagittarius stand opposite each other in the Zodiac, creating a strong emphasis on information, ideas, communication and the way we understand the world around us.

Gemini gathers information and is interested in different ideas, while Sagittarius looks for the wider meaning behind what has been learned. This can produce an interesting balance. There can be plenty of facts, conversations and opinions available, but the important question is what should be done with them. A piece of information can change a plan or reveal an opportunity that had not previously been considered.

The Full Moon can also bring an existing matter to a point where a decision is required. Sagittarius wants to move ahead, but Gemini wants to ask questions and consider alternatives. This makes November 25th a useful day for recognising that a change is needed without assuming that the first available choice must be the correct one. Greater freedom can come from having more options rather than rushing into one of them.

Mercury is direct in Scorpio as Sagittarius season begins. Mercury represents intellect, thoughts, communication, reasoning and adaptability. It stationed direct on November 14th and is now moving forward again. Conversations, information and decisions that became confused or delayed during the retrograde period can continue to make progress.

Mercury remains in Scorpio until December 8th, when it enters Sagittarius. This means the first part of Sagittarius season still has a more searching approach to communication. The Sun wants to look ahead, while Mercury continues to examine details that have not been completely resolved. This can prevent optimism from becoming careless. There is room for new plans, but important questions still need answers.

When Mercury enters Sagittarius on December 8th, communication becomes more closely connected with the character of the season. Thoughts can turn towards future plans, travel, education and wider interests. People can become more willing to express their opinions and discuss larger ideas. There can also be a tendency to speak quickly or confidently before every detail has been checked.

Venus is direct in Libra when Sagittarius season begins. Relationships and agreements that were reconsidered during the Venus retrograde period can now begin to settle into a clearer direction. Libra wants harmony and fairness, while Sagittarius values honesty and freedom. Relationships can benefit from giving each person enough independence without losing the cooperation needed to make the relationship work.

Venus enters Scorpio on December 7th. This brings greater emotional intensity back into relationships and personal values. Sagittarius season can encourage independence, but Venus in Scorpio wants stronger emotional connections and can become possessive when trust is uncertain. Finding a reasonable balance between closeness and personal freedom can become important.

Mars is in Virgo throughout Sagittarius season. Mars represents confidence, self assertion, energy, strength, ambition and physical activity. Virgo gives this energy a practical and analytical character. Sagittarius can produce large plans and considerable enthusiasm, while Mars in Virgo concentrates on the work required to make those plans possible.

This combination can be useful. Optimism provides the reason to begin something, while practical effort keeps it moving. Sagittarius can see an opportunity and Mars in Virgo can deal with the details. Problems are more likely when enthusiasm becomes greater than the available time, money or resources.

A New Moon in Sagittarius follows on December 9th. The Moon reaches its New Moon phase in the same sign as The Sun, strengthening the Sagittarius influence. New Moons are associated with beginnings and provide a natural point for starting something that can develop during the following lunar cycle.

This New Moon can be particularly useful for plans involving travel, learning, exploration or greater independence. Something considered around the Full Moon on November 25th can now be ready for a new beginning. The two lunar events create a clear progression through the first half of Sagittarius season. The Full Moon brings information and decisions into focus, while the New Moon encourages action in a new direction.

December 13th and 14th bring further changes. Saturn stations direct in Aries on December 13th, followed by Jupiter stationing retrograde in Leo and Neptune stationing direct in Aries on December 14th. Several slower planets are changing direction within a short period, adding to the sense that priorities and longer term plans are being reconsidered.

Jupiter is particularly important because it rules Sagittarius. Jupiter is in Leo throughout Sagittarius season and reaches 29° before turning retrograde on December 14th. Jupiter and Leo both have a confident and expansive character. This can increase optimism, ambition and the desire to do something on a larger scale.

Jupiter retrograde does not remove these possibilities, but it can change the way they develop. A large plan can require reconsideration. Something that appeared ready to expand can need more preparation first. Sagittarius naturally wants to keep moving, but Jupiter turning retrograde is a reminder that growth is not always achieved by moving faster.

The final part of Sagittarius season therefore has a different character from its beginning. November 25th opens with the Full Moon in Gemini and a strong interest in information, choices and new directions. December brings the New Moon, several planetary changes and a greater need to decide which possibilities deserve continued effort.

Sagittarius season continues until December 23rd, when The Sun enters Capricorn. The Sagittarius-Capricorn cusp falls on December 22nd with The Sun at 29° Sagittarius. By then the emphasis begins to move from exploration and freedom towards the more practical, responsible and ambitious nature of Capricorn.

Sagittarius season beginning on November 25th 2026 brings a stronger desire for freedom, optimism, travel, exploration and new possibilities. After the intensity of Scorpio season, attention turns towards the future and towards experiences that can widen our understanding of what is possible.

The best use of Sagittarius season is to allow optimism to create movement without allowing confidence to replace good judgement. Look beyond old restrictions, consider new opportunities and be willing to change direction when something better becomes possible. Freedom is valuable, but the strongest opportunities will be those that can survive a careful look at the facts.
